Noticeboard

Following Dr Robinson's retirement and the recruitment of his replacement Dr Sabine Kersten, we tried to notify his patient list by email (if we have patient email addresses recorded) or by post. It has come to our attention that some patients have not received this information. We would advise that patients check their Spam Inbox for this email. Thank you.

COVID-19 Updates

  • If you need to visit the Practice please wear a cloth face covering.

  • We are not currently accepting returns of unwanted/unused medications until July at the earliest.

  • To alleviate pressure on the surgery during this busy time our dispensary will only be open from 9-12 for collection of prescriptions.

  • Please keep to one in the Practice at all times. If you need to enter the Practice and there is someone in Reception please wait outside in a queue with a 2 metre distance from the person in front of you.

  • If you do enter the Practice please gel your hands with the sanitiser provided.

  • In Dorset our focus is testing of frontline staff first as the availability of testing is limited.  GPs may order an antibody test as part of routine blood tests where patients have received appropriate counselling and consent but we would expect these numbers to be low as general practice and local labs do not currently have the capacity to undertake this work. We will provide further information about access to tests for patients as the research and guidance develops on this but in the meantime we would ask that patients do not request antibody testing.

The surgery will be closed for training on:

Thursday 23rd July - 3.30 - 6.30

Thursday 17th September - 3.30 - 6.30

Tuesday 13th October - 3.30 - 6.30

2021

Travel Vaccinationsglobal air travel

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements. This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required.

There is further information about countries and vaccinations required on the links below

Europe Europe & Russia North America North America
Central America Central America South America South America
Caribbean Caribbean Africa Africa
Middle East Middle East Central Asia Central Asia
East Asia East Asia Australasia Australasia and Pacific

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations. These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine. Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
